I'm Will. I started icandothat.ai because I'd watched too many people around me leave real money on the table — a spare iPhone in a drawer, a stroller gathering dust in the basement, a bike in the garage that hadn't been ridden since 2019. The items were valuable. What was missing was the thirty minutes of research and writing that stands between owning a thing and selling it.

Before starting this project I spent years selling secondhand goods myself — a few hundred items across eBay, Facebook Marketplace, Mercari, and Poshmark. Enough volume to notice the patterns that separate listings that sit for weeks from listings that sell in twenty minutes. The difference is almost never the price. It's usually the title, the first photo, and whether the seller answered the two questions every buyer silently asks before they message.

icandothat.ai is how I wanted to package what I learned: a free tool that does the research for you, plus a growing library of guides that teach the parts the tool can't automate. I write and edit every guide on the site. The AI models we use are good first drafters. They're not substitutes for someone who has actually shipped a fragile record player across the country, so the final voice on everything you read here is mine.

My editorial approach is simple. Every guide starts from a question a real person might type into Google at 9pm on a Sunday. I try to give the answer in the first paragraph, then earn the rest of the read with specifics: actual numbers, actual categories, actual mistakes I've watched people make. If a claim is time-sensitive (tax law, platform fees, shipping rates), I source it and we revisit it on a cadence. If I don't know something well enough to write about it, I don't publish on it.
